Erica Cory is from northern Iowa but has lived in Lincoln since high school. She works full time as an analyst at Allstate Financial and goes to school at UNL, majoring in Pre-Veterinary Zoo Animal Care. She also volunteers for the Capital Humane Society. She has four cats and a dog. Animals are her passion and what guide her life choices. She is a vegetarian and environmentalist because of her love for animals. Her goal of becoming a vet is for the sole purpose of helping and saving animals. She intends to eventually open a sanctuary and volunteer her services to various non-profit animal welfare organizations.
Allison Cruikshank is a veterinary technician assistant. She is currently in high school. After high school, she plans to study pre-vet and biology at UNL. She received her love for animals from her family. Her family has four dogs and two cats that they love dearly. In her free time, Allison loves to read.
Jen Curtis brings 24 years of experience to the team. The Kearney, NE native grew up loving animals and after some encouragement from her parents, she chose her career path and went on to graduate from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. She currently owns a dog named Skye and two kitties, Oliver and Liddy. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son, Kaleb, as well as watching movies and cheering on the Husker football team.
Caitlyn-Dennis graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture under the veterinarian technician option. She has always loved helping people and animals and wanted a career where she could do both. She has a Welsh Corgi named Foxy who she adopted from her school and a kitten named Skunk that she rescued. She collects ukuleles of which she is a self taught player. She also enjoys reading and playing video games in her spare time.
Taylor Heng is one of Superior Veterinary Care and Cotner Pet Care’s receptionists. She is a veterinary science major at the University of Nebraska with hopes of attending vet school in the future. The Nebraska City native has always had a love for animals but her family’s farm inspired her to pursue a veterinary career path. She has a spoiled 3 year old black lab named Lola as well as three barn cats. Her spare time is spent running and training for various marathons throughout Nebraska.
Nicole Jensen is a kennel assistant and receptionist at Superior Veterinary Care. She received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Colorado State University and recently completed her master’s degree in Clarinet Performance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her love for helping and working with animals began at a young age with family animals. In her free time, she enjoys performing on the clarinet and spending time with her chinchilla, Timothy.
Mikayla Lonowski is a veterinary assistant. She is a born and raised Nebraskan and grew up with about 10-20 dogs at a time, horses, donkeys, goats, rabbits, and rats. But her love for animals didn’t stop there. Her friends and family members have always been animal lovers and that’s what made her one herself. She is currently a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with plans to attend Iowa State for vet school. She has a Blue Heeler/Hanging Tree puppy, Hank, and two German Shepherds, Max and Emma.
Malina Pokorney graduated from Omaha College of Health Careers in 2001 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Animal Health Technology. She has worked in a variety of animal hospitals as a Licensed Veterinary Technician over the years. Malina has 1 husband, 3 children, 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and 5 hermit crabs. Her hobbies include being with her family, reading, relaxing on the couch and shopping.
Mark-Pryor is from southern Alabama and moved to Omaha, NE 8 years ago. He received his Vet Assistant Certificate in 2011 as well as being a Kennel Attendant at Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital. He has three dogs – Mocha (7), Aspen (4), and Bella (1) – as well as two cats – Biz (13) and Lea (10). Mark has worked in management for more than four years and upon his recent move to Lincoln the USPS. He has a passion for animals from spending hours as a child studying and watching medical shows on channels such as Animal Planet learning about the pet hospitals and how they operate. Outside from work he loves to write music, sing, and jog with his dogs.
Nathan Reisinger is a veterinary technician. He was born and raised in Grand Island, NE. He graduated in 2016 from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE. He’s currently attending UNL to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Dawn VanArsdale has always been a dog lover. In high school she discovered dog grooming and worked in a salon as a bather. Dawn came back to dog grooming in 2009 where it has been a passion ever since. She enjoys hanging out with family and friends during her free time.
Madison Williams is currently a student at the University of Nebraska studying veterinary science. She has wanted to be a vet her entire life and currently has a lab/dachshund mix, Jett. In the past, Madison has had dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, turtles, and hermit crabs. In her free time she enjoys baking, watching movies and reading.
